First jump...*trotting (trotting is similar to a person jogging and it is a four beat motion where all feet touch the ground.) into the jump one and *cantering (this is a three beat motion, which means that one hind leg is on the ground while the other three are still in the air, next the opposite front leg is touched to the ground while the starting leg is lifted off the ground, finally the "suspension time" is where all four legs are off the ground before starting the same cycle again.
